2024 Women Build

The power and strength of women are amplified when we join together in a common cause and are inspired to go beyond our comfort zones. This year, we will raise $70,000 to help purchase construction materials for a Habitat Home in Aberdeen.

he Women Build Committee's mission is to raise awareness of the need for affordable housing in Moore County and to engage volunteers of any skill level in planning, fundraising, and building a safe, affordable home. Through contributing to this unique program, participants gain skills and confidence in all aspects of a build project while working with a team of committee members, crew leaders, volunteers, and tradeswomen in a supportive, empowering building environment. Committee members engage in the fundraising, outreach, event planning, and general development of the growing Women Build program.

Meet Our Family Partner

Tiara has lived and worked in Moore County all of her life. She works at Penick Village and was encouraged by her co-workers to apply for the homebuyer program. We love when our homeowner partners who have gone through the program recommend us because it tells us we have served them with courtesy and respect. Co-workers have pushed her, supported her, and now say they are proud of her commitment to her family. Tiara has finished her 300 sweat equity hours and has picked out finishes for her new home in Aberdeen.

Tiara, a devoted mother of four, cherishes every moment she gets to spend with her children despite her busy work schedule. She is excited about the prospect of starting fresh in her new Habitat House and giving her kids a safe and spacious place to play. With the stress of housing insecurity lifted off her shoulders, Tiara can focus on creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family.
